With nominations for Best European DJ and Best Radio Mix Show DJ (Corsten’s Countdown) at this year’s International Dance Music Awards in Miami, Ferry Corsten continues to be a leading force in trance on a global level. He never seems to take a break, constantly pushing the boundaries of music through DJing and producing. He truly is an innovator.
With last year’s album “Twice in a Blue Moon” Ferry showed us that “We Belong” under his daughter “Gabriella’s Sky.” His music caused a “Radiocrash” that shook up our “Brainbox” and showed us that deep down inside we are all “Made of Love.” What more could one ask for? From his collaborations with Tiesto as Gouryella and with Vincent de Moor as Veracocha, to his work with Guru of Gangstarr on “Junk,” the man truly is loud, electronic and hella ferocious.
Rated in the top 10 of DJ Magazine’s prestigious Top 100 Poll the past 3 years, if you have never experienced a Ferry Corsten event you are just lame. Just kidding!! But seriously, if you love trance, love to dance or simply just want to have one of the best times of your life, this is the man you want in charge.
2010 is extra special for Corsten, as he has released a remix of one of the classics that put him on the map. In 1999 under the alias System F, Ferry released “Out of the Blue” which is considered by everyone to be a true classic. It has inspired a countless number of today’s DJs and producers to start their careers. The 2010 remix package comes with remixes from the likes of Tiesto, Laidback Luke, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Koen Groeneveld, Stoneface & Terminal, Rafael Frost, Hi_Tack, Showtek and a host of others! Also made available is the Original Violin Edit!! It has been supported by a who’s who of international electronic dance music superstars.
In addition to the special release of “Out of the Blue 2010” Ferry has also been hard at work in the booth mixing his newest mix compilation “Once Upon a Night.” The album includes 25 unreleased tracks that have been produced exclusively for the compilation by the likes of DC’s favorite local superstar Breakfast, BT, Tritonal, and NYC’s own DJ Eco among others. “Once Upon a Night” is slated to release at the end of March, a tracklist is available online.
