As the tribal pulse encased Lima Lounge, the crowd realized it had begun. Glow resident Roberto Gonzalez prepared them as no one else can, but nothing truly prepares one for a sonic journey with DJ Boris. The NY resident turned international journeyman gave DC Nightlife a potent dose of tribal house and techno, turning Lima Lounge to a melting pot of sound, song and dance.

Known for his incorporation of massive, eclectic drums in his productions and DJ sets, Boris hammered Club Glow with swoops, thuds, claps and resonating toms. There were times we closed our eyes and re-opened to find our selves in the depths of the Congo. At other points DC Nightlife was transported to the dense foliage of the Amazon. Later, as mariachi horns trumpeted throughout the club, we broke out the Tequila and partied like it was the fifth of May!

If there’s one thing that can be said about Boris, it’s that he is a true reflection of NYC and house music period. He paints a musical representation of every nation, ethnic influence and culture, melts them together and bangs them out like no one else. He made and continues to maintain DC Nightlife’s belief in the music!
