If there’s one thing we can say about DC nightlife the past few weeks, it’s that our security staff has really had their work cut out for them. When the club is wall-to-wall madness it’s nice to know we’ve got cooler heads prevailing. Unfortunately for them, Calvin Harris maintained Club Glow’s reckless pace Thursday night.

Having just cracked the DJ Mag Top 100 at #94, Calvin was psyched to show off the skills that got him there. His track selection from his last DC event compared to this one showed tremendous progression. Of course he spun the tracks we all hoped he would; ‘Flashback,’ ‘You Used to Hold Me,’ ‘I Am Not Alone.’ He also expanded on his ‘melodic, accessible, going off… bleepy noises,’ style with tracks like Fat Boy Slim vs. Fedde Le Grand’s Praise You 2009, Dustin Zahn – Stranger to Stability (Len Faki Podium Remix) and teases of Daft Punk – One More Time and LMFAO vs. Chuckie – Let the Bass Kick in Miami. He even went as far as dropping a remix of Taio Cruz – Dynamite!

As Harris told DJ Mag, his favorite thing about being a DJ is ‘watching people going off.’ It’s safe to say he got a whole lot of that (and more) from DC nightlife. The crowd at Lima was one of the best crowds since Glow’s arrival to the upscale DC hotspot. And now that it’s 18+, we were able to host a young, vibrant, balls-to-the-wall college crowd that brought crazy energy and a carefree attitude. The dance floor, VIP, patio, main bar, upstairs, and Vetro were all mobbed!! And as Cal stood in the booth, playing maestro, waiving his arms and bowing to the crowd, we knew only good would come.
