If you haven’t witnessed the boss of Toolroom Records, a master of tech-house, rock a room… you’ve been missing out. All hell broke loose when Mark Knight took the decks of Lima Washington DC this past Thursday, 2/3/11. Mr. Knight is not only known for his wonderful combination of tech-house and progressive, but also his ability to seriously get down and dirty. Armed with CDJs and a case jam-packed with unreleased material, Mark showed DC nightlife that tech-house is still very much alive and kicking.

Not only did he manage to play enough “hit songs” to sooth the light EDM listener, but he also gave his own take on those hits. Playing a wonderful techy edit of One by Swedish House Mafia, Mark Knight really showed his skills in the DJ booth. To the light listener, Mark’s play list consisted of unheard, lesser known songs, but to the avid fan, Mark dropped some serious bombs: Alright by Red Carpet, Gimme Five (Mix 1) by Alex Kenji & Federico Scavo, Conscindo by Mark Knight & Wolfgang Gartner, Nitro by Michael Woods, a wonderful edit of Sinnerman by Felix Da Housecat feat. Nina Simone, Man With The Red Face by Mark Knight & Funkagenda, Downpipe (Club Mix) by Mark Knight, D. Ramirez & Underworld and so much more.

Mark Knight is a legend. He is a pioneer of not only house music, but also Electronic Dance Music in general. With a giant grin on his face, Mr. Knight showed the people of DC a damn good time. And like always we responded with open arms and open ears. DC nightlife was treated to one of the most spectacular musical treats, it was a great set from a great dj.
