DC nightlife was taken for the ride of its life as Axwell delivered his second performance at Club Glow at Fur Nightclub. From unreleased Axtone bangers to Swedish House Mafia favorites, Axel Hedfors brought his smooth, melodic style, added a splash of grit and caused mayhem in Washington DC.

One of the best parts about experiencing a club night with Axwell is watching the zone the #10 DJ in the world gets into as he performs. With his eyes closes, arms swooping towards the decks and hair whipping back and forth, the Swedish DJ looks akin to a buoy floating on the ocean’s surface. Smooth, undulating and peaceful as ever.

Of course, the crowd was far from peaceful, they went wild!!

The rise of big room house began with the likes of Fatboy Slim and The Chemical Brothers. Today it’s carried on by a bevy of Swedish-born acts like Swedish House Mafia, Avicii, John Dahlback and more. Why Sweden? Most of them credit the weather. There’s nothing else to do and the clubbing wasn’t so great back in the day, so if they wanted to hear good music while escaping the cold, they hit the studio!

Look for more big room house DJs such as David Tort, Thomas Gold, AN21 and Max Vangeli to carry the torch for years to come!
