As colleges and universities around the nation prepare for homecoming, Glow hosted its own nostalgic soiree on Saturday night. Nothing says ‘varsity champ’ like DC’s own Sharam manning the decks at Fur Nightclub.

Whenever Sharam is in town you know you’re in for a wild time. He invokes a true party atmosphere. Considering the fact that his hometown entourage can party harder than most of you, it’s natural to expect everyone will ‘Get Wild.’ And speaking of… One of the nice things about Sharam’s sets is the vast gap in time he spans when selecting tracks. We heard everything from ‘Don’t Say a Word,’ and ‘Get Wild,’ to cuts from his new ‘Speed’ album (which he is extremely tight lipped on). The best part about Sharam’s track listing is that he always breaks out 15-20 year old tracks that rival anything made today. We asked him about that funky disco song with the saxophone that sounded Joris Voorn-esque. He just smirked and told us ‘that song’s 25 years old!’ He then politely declined to tell us the name. But hey, when you’re able to break out songs that old and have them still be fresh, we don’t blame you for keeping it close.

As advertised, Saturday night was somewhat of a legends night at Glow. In addition to the Deep Dish star, Mnmlife booked techno legend Mr. C on the patio. The music was stripped, splashed with jazzy goodness, and banged harder than most techno we have experienced. Like Sharam, Mr. C has been doing it for a long, long time. In fact, he is one of the guys who started the whole ‘rapping’ on EDM thing when he was part of The Shamen back the early 90’s. Look it up. With his recent move from the UK to LA, look for Mr. C to be spinning more gigs stateside!!!
