Skrillex Announces New OWSLA Label
Who’s the kid? He’s the OWSLA urchin (duh!) also known as The Dubstepchild. The black eye make up, lack of a t-shirt and affinity for stuffed animal attacks leaves us wondering what’s next for OWSLA.
OWSLA: A military troop of rabbits from Watership Down, a hardcore 1970s children’s fantasy novel.
The label’s first releases will be from UK dubstep producer Koan Sound, popular North Carolina electro artist Porter Robinson, Washington DC’s very own Alvin Risk and San Francisco progressive-house stars M Machine.
The OWSLA project will also serve as a production company headed by Skrillex manager Tim Smith, Biz 3 Publicity owner Kathryn Frazier and publicist Clayton Blaha.
It was only a matter of time before Skrillex branched out from the Mau5trap umbrella and started his own thing. The production and publicity elements make OWSLA much more than a typical record label!
