Have you heard AK-47?

Named by Armin van Buuren as the world’s top up and coming trance act, W&W’s four-year career has finally peaked with their debut album ‘Impact.’

With plenty of lofty goals still on the plate of Dutch producers Willem van Hanegem and Ward van der Harst, one thing is certainly clear, their ‘up and comer’ status has been upgraded.

Acid, Big Room Chords, Stadium Trance

‘Impact’ explodes on contact!

It’s got everything you could want from the trance of today:

  • The huge, fuzzy, Armada/Mustang-esque synths
  • The epic builds the #trancefamily has grown to love
  • Rolling, thundering drums
  • Those stadium-sized stabs
  • And of course, epic vocals!

“For ‘Impact’, we tried many different new styles, sounds and tricks. We were able to implement a lot of those into our sound. Unique is the key word in this process and the album turned out exactly as we wanted it to be!”

– W&W

Meeting at Trance Energy 2007 and seeing their first collaboration ‘Mustang’ unite that same crowd a year later was a pretty good indicator that Willem & Ward were on to something.

Fusing trance melodies, electro beats and techno energy, the duo set themselves apart from the rest.

Three years later, the two continue to infuse new blood into a timeless genre. Tracks like ‘Arena’, ‘Mainstage’, ‘Alpha’ and ‘AK-47’ were instant favorites. They’ve remixed Armin van Buuren, Marcel Woods, Allure and Aly & Fila. Their festival appearances include Trance Energy, Tomorrowland, A State of Trance 450 and 500, Global Gathering and Nature One.

They cracked the DJ Mag Top 100 in 2010 at #71.
