PHASE 2 HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED!

and god damn it is looking sexy…

So now it’s time for some more fun facts about the artists on the lineup:

RL Grime

New York-based DJ/Produce Henry Steinway, RL Grime, released his first EP on LA’s collective WeDidIt back in 2012 and hasn’t stopped since then. However, he is probably most known for his remix of Kanye West’s Mercy, gaining over 8 million plays on Soundcloud and solidifying his title as one of the Trap greats. It is his ability to combine hip-hop with electronic that makes his music not only a festival favorite but also well respected in the industry with artists such as Big Sean and Benny Benassi wanting to work with him and remixes of the Weeknd’s The Hills racking up millions of listens on Soundcloud.  His songs are a harmonious blend of southern hip-hop and electronic music, creating a sound that is purely his own and has a unique ability to reshape how we hear dance music.

  • Other Moniker: Clockwork

  •             A more melodic genre than his RL Grime persona

  • Is releasing a new album in 2017, follows his hit 2015 record Void

  • Creates a yearly Halloween Mix comprised of the “spooky” songs he hears throughout the year

  • The first concert he went to: Spice Girls

  • Really loves golf (was on the varsity team in high school)

  • Credits 50 Cent’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’ as one of his biggest influences

  •             Favorite song from the album: Many Men

  • Attended NYU until his junior year studying Music Business

  • Enjoyed watching/reading R.L. Stine books as a kid

  • Artists he’s remixed: Rihanna, Travi$ Scott, Chief Keef

Boombox Cartel

Mexico-born artists Americo Garcia and Jorge Medina have built a name for themselves as a “must watch”, highly talented, up-and-coming duo. Having an incredibly diverse musical background, Boombox Cartel combines their love and knowledge of music with an innovative and unique sound. The duo joined forces while attending music school in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Their musical chemistry was instantly apparent and after a few self-releases, their star power began shining through a swift rise to the top of the Minneapolis DJ scene.

  • Met in Monterrey, Mexico

  • How they got into making music:

  •             Americo: started out playing in bands and then moved into producing hip-hop. “Then Skrillex happened and it was game over. That’s what got me into the electronic music scene. It’s been almost eight years now since I started producing.”

  •             Jorge: has been Djing since he was 16, downloading remixes and playing at friend’s parties until he was 18 when he wanted to start making his own stuff. “I got Ableton and started messing around with it until Americo pretty much showed me how to do things right. I still remember when he taught me what sidechain compression was; best day of my life”

  • Artists they draw inspiration from: Passion Pit & MGMT

  • Memorable show:  EDC Mexico

  • What three songs should you listen to if you are just starting to listen to Boombox Cartel:

  •             B2U, Dancing with Fire, Aftershock

  • Avid lovers of any and all kinds of tacos

  • It’s all about the vibes man: “tight clubs are the best ones because they feel like house parties. The vibe is on another level

ARMNHMR

Taking 2016 with full force, LA duo ARMNHMR (consisting of Joseph Chung & Joseph Abella) are no strangers to attacking all spectrums of the Dance Music scene. With masterful original productions and beautifully resonating remixes ranging from Eclectic to Trap, ARMNHMR has received strong support from high-profile artists throughout the industry.
A combination of heart-pounding drops and melodic interludes encompass the #HammerSound. With many already successful releases and dozens of planned releases for the near future, 2017 is looking to be the duos breakout year.

  • Artist they would want to do a B2B (back 2 back) set with: Slander or Skrillex

  • The boys decided to go with ARMNHMR because of the “idea that everybody has potential but nobody is able to reach their goals alone. The arm signifies finesse and authority while the hammer signifies strength and power.”

  • Artists that introduced them to electronic music:

  •             JC: Laidback Luke

  •             JA: Kaskade and Michael Woods

  • How they met: they use to go to raves together! They tried to make music together but it didn’t click until a year later.

  • The favorite song they have remixed:

  •             Joseph Abella: Rustie’s ‘Beautiful‘ because it was their first attempt at tackling future bass

  •             Joseph Chung: The Chainsmokers ‘Inside Out
