So now it’s time for some more fun facts about the artists on the lineup:

RL Grime

New York-based DJ/Produce Henry Steinway, RL Grime, released his first EP on LA’s collective WeDidIt back in 2012 and hasn’t stopped since then. However, he is probably most known for his remix of Kanye West’s Mercy, gaining over 8 million plays on Soundcloud and solidifying his title as one of the Trap greats. It is his ability to combine hip-hop with electronic that makes his music not only a festival favorite but also well respected in the industry with artists such as Big Sean and Benny Benassi wanting to work with him and remixes of the Weeknd’s The Hills racking up millions of listens on Soundcloud.  His songs are a harmonious blend of southern hip-hop and electronic music, creating a sound that is purely his own and has a unique ability to reshape how we hear dance music.

  • Other Moniker: Clockwork

Boombox Cartel

Mexico-born artists Americo Garcia and Jorge Medina have built a name for themselves as a “must watch”, highly talented, up-and-coming duo. Having an incredibly diverse musical background, Boombox Cartel combines their love and knowledge of music with an innovative and unique sound. The duo joined forces while attending music school in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Their musical chemistry was instantly apparent and after a few self-releases, their star power began shining through a swift rise to the top of the Minneapolis DJ scene.

  • Met in Monterrey, Mexico

  • How they got into making music:

  •             Americo: started out playing in bands and then moved into producing hip-hop. “Then Skrillex happened and it was game over. That’s what got me into the electronic music scene. It’s been almost eight years now since I started producing.”

  •             Jorge: has been Djing since he was 16, downloading remixes and playing at friend’s parties until he was 18 when he wanted to start making his own stuff. “I got Ableton and started messing around with it until Americo pretty much showed me how to do things right. I still remember when he taught me what sidechain compression was; best day of my life”
