At only 22 years old, Avicii is one of the most talented DJ/producers on the planet. 2011: THE YEAR OF AVICII
Perhaps the most recognizable face in electronic dance music’s surge of recent breakthrough artists, Avicii has been an undeniable force this year. Just take a look back at 2011 and see how far he has come in such little time!
- Early January — begins dropping “Levels” in his club sets.
- January 15 — Plays his first Saturday night Glow party at Fur Nightclub, outgrowing the capacity of Lima Lounge.
- June 25 — Celebrates his 1-year anniversary with Glow. People began lining up outside Fur at 4 pm!
- July 16 — Releases hit song “Fade Into Darkness.”
- August 18 — Makes his Identity Festival debut with Glow at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, VA.
- August 26 — Releases hit song “Sunshine” with David Guetta, featured in album Nothing But the Beat.
- August 29 — Flo Rida releases “Good Feeling,” sampling “Levels.” Song enters charts at #82; peaks at #31.
- October 20 — Named the #6 DJ in the world by DJ Mag’s Top 100 Poll!
And the year still isn’t over!
October 31 — Avicii is officially releasing “Levels” on Beatport!
