While touring all the major sites and enriching yourself with historical knowledge may be why you tell everyone else why you’re going on vacation, we know the real reason. Don’t worry, we’ve been there too so we created a list of some of the best places to go to get your EDM and nightlife fill while visiting somewhere new.
Sure, it isn’t the warmest spot and if you dream of beaches and sun this probably isn’t the place for you. However, if you want an experience you’ll never forget, then Amsterdam is the spot. Home of Amsterdam Music Festival, which had mega names such as Tiesto, Steve Aoki, and David Guetta, Amsterdam clearly knows what it’s doing. With a rich history dating back to the 1980’s, the Amsterdam club scene started out being built in old abandoned warehouses and played any genre imaginable. If you go to Amsterdam, you just might learn something new and have a trip that you won’t forget.
Miami doesn’t even need an introduction. You already know what Miami is about, and if you don’t then pull your head out from under the rock you are living under and listen up. It’s got beaches. It’s got great food. Better yet, it has a great EDM scene. It can be crowded and expensive, but it will also be one of the best last minute decisions you make. If you live in the DMV area and are looking for a last-minute flight, look no further than Miami. Also, stay a couple extra days and you can go to Ultra*. Who needs to go class anyway, right?
* Going to Ultra? First: jealous. Second: check out our Ultra Survival Kit to ensure you have a safe and fun time
The home of Techno has never looked so good. Beer gardens, city waterways that are lined with an endless amount of bars and so many clubs putting out every kind of music, you won’t know what to do with yourself. It’s dirty. It’s beautiful. It is so many things in between that you’ll wake up on Monday not knowing exactly what happened, but it would have been the best time of your life. There isn’t really a start and stop time when in Berlin. Music and partying are pretty much a day to night thing and seeing as how it was born out of the political divide, there is not only a thriving “youth in revolt” culture but an underlying of historical nuance that encompasses Berlin. All of these different factors make Berlin’s EDM scene and nightlife revolve around the attitude that you stop when you went to. Just think about your choices when you are just making your way home on a Monday when you left Friday night.
Las Vegas, Nevada
Las Vegas is just one nonstop party. From the parties at hotel pools to nightlife that is bigger and better than anything you have ever seen, it’s quite easy to get lost. Where do you go? What do you do? Will I meet someone ~famous~? Literally go anywhere. Everywhere has DJ’s that you can only dream of seeing all in one place. Dance all night and make all your friends jealous that they didn’t join you. As for meeting someone famous, who knows?? You just might. This place makes it so easy to club hop because they are all so close to each other so do your research beforehand and get ready to have an unforgettable vacation.
EDC Las Vegas: June 16-18th
Cancun has it all. Warm weather. Beaches. Pool parties. Clubs and bars that will blow your mind. It’s pretty much a college students dream vacation. Flights are relatively cheap and if you get that all inclusive package, life is looking pretty golden. However, just be aware that you will be vying for bar and floor space with bunches of other college students. So if you don’t get along with that frat boy that lives down the hall from you, well then maybe this isn’t the place for you.
Clubs to go to: tbh the whole area is a club/bar/party
Inception Music Festival: 30 days and 30 nights of major artists such as Marshmello, DJ Snake, 3LAU, DVBBS and many others (make sure to buy your party package beforehand)
Brooklyn is definitely not where you would expect to go for an EDM filled vacation, but hear us out on this one. Is Brooklyn full of hipsters and microbrews? Yes. Does it have the glamor that Manhattan clubs possess? No, not really. But there is something mysterious and exciting about Brooklyn nightlife. It’s not full of raging clubs, but a more chill vibe stuffed into old warehouses and back ally parties, with bars and restaurants turning into people dancing on tables by the end of the night. It will have some of the best underground talents that will have you saying, “Why isn’t this guy big yet??” Drinks are cheaper. Dress codes are few and far between. Trust us. It’s worth it.
Clubs to visit: Output, tbh if you just walk around Williamsburg you are bound to find something
Don’t want to go anywhere? Your friends are being lame and just can’t seem to pick a place? Why not just stay in DC? I mean why would you want to leave when you have some of the best nightlife right here? We don’t need to tell you how great all of the clubs and bars are here because you already know that Soundcheck always has your back for a turnt up Thursday and #afterglow Friday is always a good time. Not mention Tiesto will be here for two nights in a row March 11-12 👀 Us aside, U Street Music Hall is always a good time and never fails to bring in some amazing talent.
Ah, Puerto Vallarta. What can be said about Puerto Vallarta that countless sorority girls and frat boys haven’t already told you? It is the center of all debauchery. It has boat and beach parties galore. It is both an experience you want to have, but also very much don’t want at the same time. It also boasts a music festival that is catered directly to Spring Breakers: Electro Beach. The festival which is put on by XtremeTrips includes acts such as Audien, Thomas Jack, Lost Kings, Party Thieves, and Waka Flocka Flame. Whether you come for some sun and light drinking or for all out mayhem, Puerto Vallarta has something for that with a great drop to back it up.
Electro Beach: major headliners every night, sign up
LA is home to some of the most well-known and loved DJ’s right now so it makes sense that LA would be a good place to go. It has everything you could possibly want. Warm weather, beaches, shopping galore, hiking destinations to prove you did more than just drink on your vacation, amusement parks and, of course, endless options for an epic night out. What was once seen as a mostly underground scene with warehouse parties and some wild desert parties, quickly turned into the massive clubs L.A is known for now. Don’t fret, the L.A dance scene didn’t completely sell out and still maintains their underground charm and wild nights while also drawing in big name DJs.
Staying in the LA area for a while: Beyond Wonderland festival: March 24 & 25th
There are multiple cities in Croatia that are up and coming EDM hubs, but Pula certainly is a place worth checking out. The city is known for hosting the Outlook Festival in January. The festival takes place in a fortress as well as surrounding beaches. Don’t want to stay on land? Croatia is also known for throwing some legendary boat parties. TBH you won’t find better yacht parties than in Croatia. Also, if you really want to get into the heart of what the Croatian parties are all about, take a day trip to Pag. You won’t regret it.
Clubs to go to: Aquarius, Hacienda
