Hook n’ Sling is the embodiment of every young producer’s dream – since he started making music
over a decade ago he’s now hit it big, smashing clubs from his homeland of Australia to Ibiza to the
Music Box in Hollywood. Anthony Maniscalco has produced tracks with TV Rock, Adam K, and
Richard Dinsdale and has remixed Wolfgang Gartner, Miike Snow, Afrojack, Flo Rida, and Hard Rock
Sofa among others.
Coming from a background of breaks and house music, Hook n Sling’s style has evolved to incorporate
elements of all types of electronic tunes. You’ll hear nasty sidechained saws blended with proggy stabs
accompanied by bouncing toms – and that’s just in his remix of Nervo.
We know Hook N Sling’s production skills are on point, but how about his live show? Look no further
than Ministry of Sound’s legendary Annual mixtape series – MoS asked Hook to mix the compilation
in 2010 and 2011 alongside Tommy Trash. His 2011 mix demonstrates his ability to mix the big
anthems with creative acapellas and smaller tracks to educate his listeners while keeping heads bopping
and feet moving.
