Beatport's World Cup Beatdown

Beatport has jumped into the World Cup mix. They found the most soccer-obsessed DJs and asked them their thoughts on everything from who’s going to win to what their ideal victory music would be.

Marcus Schossow - A Man on a Mission

With an overwhelming number of sub-genres of EDM, it’s refreshing to find an artist who combines them all. Classifying Marcus Schossow’s eclectic style into any one category is impossible. Fusing futuristic techno with filthy house and a subtle smattering of trance, the 24 year old Swede is in high demand for events and remixes across the globe. His positive, welcoming personality, high energy sets and signature sound are just a few reasons why he has been taking the electronic world by storm.

DJ Rap put on a crazy show at Glow Washington DC!

Club Glow has gone global. DJ Rap brought the wild rumpus straight to the living rooms of 5000 fans as she streamed live during her set at Lima Restaurant & Lounge. Turning her computer to the crowd, back to her and then dancing something fierce, Rap cultivated an air of glitz, glam and red carpet pageantry which was appropriate, as certain celebrities (who shall remain nameless) were in attendance… TMZ eat your heart out!

Ferry Corsten threw down some "bangin' ass trance" at Glow

If you’ve ever read the Republic of Plato then you’ll understand… Ferry Corsten is the Philosopher King and music is the politician. For those who have not, traditionally Philosopher Kings are unable to communicate with the many, they are too enlightened to speak the language of the common man. They must use the go between of politicians and poets, or in Ferry’s case, bangin’ ass trance.

An amazing launch of Glow Thursdays at Lima with Hernan Cattaneo

The forces behind Panorama Productions played the part of NASA Thursday night, launching Glow from its new site at Lima Restaurant & Lounge. The captain of the shuttle? None other than Hernan Cattaneo, a veteran of electronic dance music and the perfect choice to navigate the robust crowd on a journey through space and time.

Richie Hawtin’s Twitter app announcement this morning hasn’t had much time to properly sunk in yet, but already I’ve been having some major thoughts about how the broadcasting of DJ tracklists in real time will change everything.
