Let’s be honest, over the years, DC nightlife was known for its lack of excitement. Compared to some other major cities in the U.S. the nightlife landscape in DC could best be described as mundane. Missing was that vibrant entertainment scene that one could find in Miami or New York City. Sure, there were some nice places to frequent, but the choices always seemed a bit restricted.
Fortunately after many years of limited choices in a lackluster nightlife scene, a few people led by nightclub owners and promoters decided that something needed to be done, in hopes to reinvigorate nightlife in the Nation’s Capital.
Taking cues from Las Vegas, New York and Miami, DC nightlife began to reinvent itself a few years ago. With the stunning addition of electronic music events in mega nightclubs, high end lounges that serve champagne and vodka long into the evening and theme-oriented bars and café’s, the result of this reinvention was an undeniable and incredible jolt of life into the city nightlife and a much needed breath of fresh air for its residents and tourists.

Now DC has the opposite problem, way too many places! With all the many options now available, where does one go to have a good time? How can one differentiate the great nightclubs, lounges and events from the run of the mill, stale ones? No worries, we have the answer for you. I had my birthday at 49 grove last Saturday night. The place was a bit to
packed and but a lot of fun. Good looking crowd, great DJ and very
strong drinks. A bit too strong for some of my friends, but their
light weights. All the staff were really attentive and made a point of
taking care of us. When we left the club we even got a thank you from
what turned out to be the owner. It wasn’t your usual B.S. “Thank you
come again,” either and for that I want to plug this place as a great
    place for a birthday.
