Even our interns know how to hold it down proper. As spring break hit every college campus in America last month, we at Glow decided to give our intern an opportunity to add a dash of DC Clubbing to the already tangy soundscape of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands.

Owned by our good friends Hooman Pedram and Tim Sherman, founders of former DC hotspot “FIVE,” The Saint Lounge is quickly becoming known around the world as the best nightclub in the Caribbean. Located in the town of Red Hook, The Saint is just steps away from the ferry to St John and smack dab in the middle of one of the wildest nightlife scenes anywhere. Stepping through the door, one is taken from a sweltering out door bar scene to a cool, intimate and wildly vivacious club. With 2 VIP areas on the first floor (one with a stripper pole!!) and a mezzanine level with plush comforts, The Saint Lounge is a place to see and be seen. To think it’s just another pretentious bottle service lounge, however, would be foolish. The dance floor is always packed, often with some of the most bootylicious women you will ever see. If you thought the girl in “Belly” could shake it, you ain’t seen nothing yet. West Indian girls know how to move and they save their very best for evenings at The Saint.

Laced with a state of the art sound system customized for the room, our intern’s fiery mix of house and tech house rifled through the crystal clear speakers with skilled precision. With track selections representing the best of what Glow’s Thursday nights have had to offer, DJ Intern took Saint patrons on a journey from the techy hype of Joris Voorn’s “We’re All Clean,” to the uplifting power of Axwell and Dirty South’s remix of “Sweet Disposition” by The Temper Trap. Intern spun something brilliant… he had to, otherwise Hooman would have blown the whistle and told Antonis.

The link between The Saint Lounge and Club Glow runs deep, as Tim Sherman manages Lima Restaurant & Lounge here in DC. Hooman, also a DC native, was an integral part in getting Glow up and running at the start of it all.

Needless to say, if anyone out there is planning a vacation we highly suggest taking a trip to Rock City, as the island is known. Spending a week on a sunset cruise, hiking St John, riding jet ski’s and of course partying with Hooman at The Saint will change your whole perspective. Not to mention there’s no tax on anything!!!
