aviciiLaunching his career practically overnight, this twenty year-old Sweden came out kicking and screaming with his tracks, Sound of Now, Ryu, and Alcoholic– which are getting loads of attention everywhere. Tim Berg (Avicii) started djing about two years ago, leaking his music on various blogs. He caught the attention of his now manager, Ash in 2008. In the French magazine, “Only For DJs”, Avicii was not only featured but was voted breakthrough DJ/ Producer of 2009 and fourth best overall producer.

One of his newest tracks Bromance came from the term and Wikipedia’s definition, “A bromance or man-crush is a close, but non-sexual relationship between two (or more) men.” Avicii says, “Bromance is funny, the Wikipedia description always cracks me up… it’s a tribute to the bromances in my life. I’m really happy on how it turned out! My manager and label worked their asses off to hype it and I’m just glad so many people ended up supporting it!”

Since his career has elevated so quickly—for Avicii it was a combination of hard work and a stellar team behind him. “My manager Ash has really been doing wonders for me and I wouldn’t be anywhere near here today if it wasn’t for him! It’s just been a very cool match from the start and we’ve been working very closely as a team! Finding the right blend of artistry is hard to find, At Management and Avicii are planning a summer filled with nights in Ibiza. “This is my first year in Ibiza! I will be playing at Privilege with Tiesto, eight or nine Mondays, one for the Swedes at Pacha and twice at Space! This summer for me is all about touring! I have loads of productions in the works but it’s been hard to find the time to finish them last couple of months, definitely some really interesting stuff coming out late summer though that will surprise people! Construction of his new studio is going to begin for Avicii, when he returns from his Balearic destination. “I am taking the next step for DJ performances and investing a lot in future productions of my shows—I want people to really catch an experience when they come see me in 2011.”

Avicii has a few favorites but finds it hard to pinpoint an all-time favorite track. “Hmmm impossible to say, for electronic music I would have to say that Daft Punk-Digital Love is my all time favorite. There’s so much emotion in that production! At the moment, Swedish House Mafia’s track one is just killing it everywhere I play, the same with An21 and Max Vangelis remix of Smack My Bitch Up. He draws his motivation from the Swedish House Mafia, Tiesto and Laidback Luke. “I’m just so impressed by all of them in different ways!” Avicii has heard a lot of good things about CLUB GLOW, “I will be playing a lot of unreleased stuff and brand new edits! I’m really excited and will do all I can to rock the place!” Come see the “Sound of Now” this Thursday at Lima! Calling all “alcoholics.” Also check out some of my favorite Avicii productions below!
