They linked up in their home town of Amsterdam and won the ADE Demolition Contest with one of their first tracks. Just a few years later, Dutch duo NO_ID find themselves signed to the Axtone family
Focused on enthusiasm and arousal, the guys rock a fresh, international big room/prog house sound that’s been supported by the likes of Tiësto, Sander van Doorn, Mark Knight, Chris Lake, Judge Jules, Michael Woods and their man Axwell.
They make their DC nightlife debut at Glow Thursdays on August 16, 2012. We caught up with them for a quick 5.
Glow:
What are three of NO_ID’s best techniques to “enthuse and arouse”?
NO_ID:
1. Make sure the crowd is warmed up well, when we are sure that’s the case, we will really get bangin’! Part of the element of surprise.
2. Make sure the set is always different from the last one. We always prepare our set for each gig. We try to make each one special!
3. Enjoy every gig as much as we can. The crowd responds to your vibe. If they see you are having a good time, they will enjoy themselves!
Glow:
If you were cocktails, how would you be made?
NO_ID:
Straight up. No ice!
Glow:
What’s the biggest challenge artists today face trying to break into EDM?
NO_ID:
Trying to stand out from the rest. Nowadays a lot of new producers try to copy another producer’s sound. There are not a lot of artists that try to be fresh and unique. If you try and be a bit more original it will pay off in the end!
