French DJ/Producer Martin Solveig’s love for sports and music has taken his videos and ‘Smash’ YouTube series to the next level. His most recent single, Ready 2 Go, was shot during half-time of a France vs. Croatia friendly on March 29. Le Stade de France was packed with 50,000 strong and the video was shot all in one take.
The interesting things about Ready 2 Go include the vocals by Bloc Party’s Kele and of course, the intense dubstep break down. Who knows, perhaps Martin Solveig will do a little more EDM sub genre blending on his 5th studio album, due out this summer. It will also include tracks with Dragonette. The third single involves rising star, British model/musician Sunday Girl.
Martin’s set at Glow Washington DC, which marked a year of Glow @ Lima Lounge on K Street, incorporated everything from house and dubstep to hip-hop and top 40. Solveig’s video for the immensely popular crossover hit ‘Hello’ can be heard on local radio stations throughout the US as well as on Trident’s Vitality gum commercials. That music video was shot in a packed Roland Garros stadium and featured cameos from Gael Monfils, Novak Djokovic and Bob Sinclar.
