Oliver Heldens

At only 19 years old, Oliver Heldens is absolutely smashing it. He’s already topped the UK charts with his track ‘Overdrive’ featuring Becky Hill and after releasing on Spinnin Records and FFRR he’s found a home on Tiësto’s Musical Freedom imprint.

Capturing the attention of Tiesto with his 2013 single “Gecko,” Dutch electronic dance producer Oliver Heldens began his career with a handful of singles on the CR2 label in early 2013. This was a pivotal year for Heldens, and saw him remix Martin Garrix’s smash hit “Animals,” as well as release two 12″s for Spinnin’ Records (“Stinger” and “Thumper”). Later that year, he teamed up with Oxygen Records and released “Onya” featuring Alvar and Millas. In the meantime, “Gecko” was picked up by major DJs and producers including Pete Tong, who named the track his “Essential New Tune” in January 2014. It also lead to Tiesto releasing the track on his Musical Freedom label. Heldens remixed Robin Thicke’s “Feel Good” and made headline appearances at several of Europe’s top EDM festivals that summer including Tomorrowland and Creamfields.

Tim and Jurre met at the School of Arts in Tilburg, The Netherlands, and discovered a similar interest in music. The chemistry worked prompting them to form Firebeatz in 2008. The release of the Chocolate Puma and Firebeatz collaboration “Just One More Time Baby”, was appeared on BBC Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong show and received good critiques. In addition the track topped the Beatport House chart for many weeks. “Dear New York”, one of their biggest hits, was a collaboration with Schella. It reached No. 2 in the Beatport Main Top 100.

In 2013, Firebeatz managed to keep the momentum with “Gangster” which reached the Beatport Top 20 and their collaboration with Bobby Burns in “Ding Dong”, released by Tiësto’s Musical Freedom label. Their track “Yeahhhh” came out on Calvin Harris’s Fly Eye Records and Firebeatz were asked to make an exclusive remix of “Thinking About You”, a collaboration between Calvin Harris and Ayah Marar. Their track “Wonderful” gained support by established DJs such as Afrojack, Chuckie, Sander van Doorn, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Thomas Gold and R3hab. “Max Ammo”, released December 2013, has reached the Beatport top 20.[6] Their release together with Martin Garrix “Helicopter” got to No. 1 in Beatport. They released “Guitar Track” with Sander van Doorn in March 2014 after it was initially previewed with their identities hidden.  In November 2014, Firebeatz worked alongside Calvin Harris to release “It Was You”, featured on Harris’s fourth studio album Motion.
