Your Favorite DJ’s as Alcoholic Beverages

As summer comes to a close, we here at Glow thought that it’d be a great idea to make some DJ-inspired cocktails to get us through the cold times ahead. Here are the recipes for our drinks, hope you enjoy! (Note: in order to make these great, you’ll need a couple of things: a good sound system, and a bunch of lemon wedges.)

The Long Island Iced Tiesto

Ingredients:

• 0.75 oz of gin
• 0.75 oz of White rum
• 0.75 oz of Silver tequila
• 0.75 oz Vodka
• 0.75 oz of Triple sec
• 0.75 oz of simple syrup
• 0.75 oz of Lemon juice
• 0.76 oz of a Zero 76 mp3
• 1 cup of Cola

To make:

Play Tiesto’s and Hardwell’s highly-acclaimed Zero 76 at a medium-to-high volume. Dance around for a few seconds. During the first build-up, fill a highball or hurricane glass with ice and add all the ingredients except the cola. Top with a splash of cola and stir briefly until the end of the first drop. Garnish with a lemon wedge. Enjoy.

The Martini Garrix

Ingredients:

• 2.5 oz of Beefeater gin
• 0.5 oz of Dry vermouth
• 1 Animals mp3  (duh)

To make:

Add all the ingredients to a mixing glass and fill with ice. Play the Animals drop on an infinite loop as loud as humanely possible. Stir until very cold and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Yell out “MOTHERF**KIN ANIMALS” at the top of your lungs a few times. Garnish with a lemon wedge. Enjoy.

The Dillon Franzia Sangria

Ingredients:

• 1 bottle of Franzia red wine
• 1 lemon, cut into wedges
• 1 orange, cut into wedges
• 2-3 tablespoons of sugar
• 2 shots of rum
• 2 cups of ginger ale
• 1 audio file of Get Low

To make:

Combine wine, lemon slices, orange slices, sugar and rum into a pitcher. Get low. Muddle with the back of a large spoon to get the fruit to release some of its juice, and to dissolve the sugar. Get get get low. Put into the fridge. Get low. Just before serving, stir in club soda. Get get get low. Serve over ice and fruit. Garnish with a lemon wedge. GET GET GET GET LOW WHEN THE WHISTLE GO. Enjoy.

The Jose Nervo Margarita

Ingredients:

• 1.5 oz of Jose Nervo tequila
• 0.5 oz of Triple sec
• 1 oz lime juice
• Australian Passion fruit
• Salt to rim the glass
• 1 twin version of yourself
• 1 lime wedge

To Make:

Grab your twin to help you make this drink. If you don’t have a twin, make one. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add Jose Nervo tequila, the Triple sec, lime juice, and a dash of passion fruit juice for a nice Aussie kick. Tell your twin to write another #1 dance hit for David Guetta and Kelly Rowland. Cover and shake until mixed and chilled, for about 30 seconds. Place salt on a plate. Press the rim of a chilled glass into the mixture to rim the edge. Strain margarita into the glass. Garnish with a lime wedge. Enjoy.

Steve Anjello Shots

Ingredients:

• 1 (3 oz.) envelope Jell-O or other flavored gelatin
• 8 oz of boiling water
• 4 oz Vodka
• 4 oz of cold water
• 1 valid passport
• around $2,000 USD

To make:

In a medium bowl, stir together the Jell-O and boiling water until the Jell-O dissolves. Go to your nearest airport and buy a one-way ticket to Miami. Add the vodka or rum and cold water, and stir to combine. Upon arriving at Miami Int’l Airport, buy another one-way ticket, this time to Ibiza. Pour 1 ounce of the mixture into each of 16 shot glasses (small plastic or paper cups will also work) and chill until solid. Garnish every single shot with a lemon wedge. Save the world. Enjoy.

The Skrilldriver

Ingredients:

• 1.5 oz Vodka
• Orange juice
• 1 pair of Sabre sunglasses
• 1 razor
• 1 Bangarang EP

To make:

Add the vodka to a highball glass filled with ice. Shave the left side of your head with the razor. Top with orange juice. Put the sunglasses on. Play The Devil’s Den at full blast. Re-enact this. Garnish with a lemon wedge. Go to one of Skrillex’s upcoming Echostage shows. Enjoy.
