Acoustic Covers of EDM Songs

Ever wonder how EDM songs sound like without the intense bass and loud drops? Well most EDM music with lyrics could stand on their own as ballads. Don’t believe us? Here are some acoustic versions of popular EDM songs, sung by both the original and cover artists.

 

 

Daft Punk (Daft Punk) – By: Petatonix

Pentatonix is an Acapella group of five vocalists that went from winning “The Sing Off” to earning a recording contract with Sony Music. The group hailing from Arlington, Texas won a Grammy for their cover of Daft Punk’s most popular sounds. Some of the songs included in the cover are “Technologic”, “One More Time”, “Get Lucky”, “Digital Love”, “Harder Better Faster Stronger”, “Television Rules the Nation” and “Around the World”.

 

Titanium (David Guetta) – Jasmine Thompson

The 14-year-old Brit covered Titanium at the young age of 12 and has captured the attention of many. Her cover of David Guetta and Sia’s hit gained over 7 million views on YouTube and sent the singer straight to stardom. She is now signed with Atlantic Records and has since dropped two albums.

 

Everything (Tiesto) – By: Jes

               

The New York native is signed with Tiesto’s record label, Black Hole Recordings, and was featured on the DJs album Elements of Life. Jes is featured in the original track for the song “Everything” and also released an acoustic cover of the song. Fun fact: Jes was also the opening artist for the Tiesto Worldwide Tour of Elements of Life.

 

Sun and Moon (Above and Beyond) –  By: Evan Duffy

Evan Duffy is a talented musician and singer who’s become a sensation on Youtube for his piano covers. His channel is full of EDM related covers ranging from Calvin Harris to Krewella. Here, he has remastered the track “Sun and Moon” from Above & Beyond on the piano.

 

Wake Me Up (Avicii, Feat. Aloe Blacc) – By: Aloe Blacc

Egbert Nathaniel Dawkins III or better known as Aloe Blacc cowrote the the song “Wake Me Up” with swedish DJ Avicii. With Blacc on vocals, the song became an instant hit. Not long after the release of “Wake Me Up”, Blacc signed with Interscope Records and released an EP that featured an acoustic version of the song.

 

Take Me Home (Cash Cash, Feat. Bebe Rexha)  – By: Bebe Rexha

Bebe Rexha is featured on the original version of “Take Me home” by New Jersey-based EDM group Cash Cash. The song was number 57 on the Billboard Hot 100. The acoustic version of the song was released through Big Beat Records and has over two million views.

 

Where Are Ü Now (Skrillex & Diplo, Feat. Justin Bieber) – By: Florence + The Machine

The English indie rock band covered the summer hit by Skrillex and Diplo on BBC Radio 1 live. The song was remastered to fit the style of the band and lead singer Florence Welch’s voice. The cover took a 360 change from a dance, electro pop track to a soulful and slow ballad.
